Create and manage multiple worlds on your Minecraft server with Multiverse-Core.
Running multiple worlds on one server is useful for separate survival, creative, or minigame environments. Multiverse-Core lets you create, manage, and switch between multiple worlds on the same server.
Download and Install Multiverse-Core
To get started, you need to install the plugin on your server.
- Download the latest stable version of Multiverse-Core.

- Stop your server completely.
- Drag and drop the downloaded
.jarfile into your server'spluginsfolder.
- Start your server to load the plugin and generate its configuration folder.
Creating a New World
Once the plugin is installed and running, you can create a brand new world directly from your console or in game (with OP permissions).
/mv create <world_name> <environment> [options]
- Environment Types:
NORMAL(Standard Overworld terrain)NETHER(Nether dimension layout)THE_END(The End dimension layout)
- Optional Flags
-gstands for generator. It allows you to use a custom world generator plugin (likeVoidGenfor empty/flat void worlds, orTerrafor custom terrain generation). If you are creating a normal world, you can completely ignore-gand the generator name.
- Example :
/mv create ExampleWorld NORMAL -g voidgen
/mv create ExampleWorld2 NORMAL
Importing Existing Worlds
If you downloaded a custom map template or copied an offline world folder into your server's root directory, you can easily import it into Multiverse:
- Upload your custom world folder directly to your server's root directory (same level as your default world folder).
- Run the import command in-game or via console:
/mv import <world_name> NORMAL
Teleporting Between Worlds
Moving between your newly created worlds is instantaneous using Multiverse teleport commands.
- Teleport to a world:
/mv tp <player> <world_name> - List all active worlds:
/mv list(Shows all loaded worlds, their environments, and player counts).
Configuring Per-World Rules
By default, players keep their inventories and health across all worlds. If you want separate inventories, you should install the companion plugin Multiverse-Inventories.
- Install
Multiverse-Inventoriesinto yourpluginsfolder the same way. - Configure shared group settings in
plugins/Multiverse-Inventories/config.ymlto separate inventories.
